How to change engine oil on the Apache RTR 160/180
List of Items required :
- Engine Oil
- Oil filter
- Waste cloth
- Cutting player
- Tray to drain the oil
Step 1 : Drain the oil
Place a tray under the bike and remove the drain bolt using a spanner. You can find the drain bolt under the belly of your Apache RTR 160/180. Wait for the oil to drain, it will take around 10-20 minutes to drain completely. You can tilt the bike to drain it faster.
Step 2 : Replace the oil filter
It is necessary to change the oil filter every time you change the engine oil as the company provides paper filter and the life of a paper filter is very less. Remove the old oil filter and replace it with a new oil filter.
Step 3 : Refill with New Engine oil
Close the drain bolt with a spanner and open the refill bolt with a cutting player to refill with the new engine oil. The Apache RTR 160/180 requires 1000 ml of engine oil. TVS provides two engine oil options, semi-synthetic and the all new synthetic oil (10W30) which is durable for 5000 to 6000 kms.
